What Is Valor Mortis?

A first-person dark Soulslike set in a twisted Napoleonic era: you play William, a fallen imperial soldier raised from the dead, fighting through 11 story chapters with a saber in one hand and a musket in the other.

There is no easy mode and no NPC summons — every fight comes down to precise parries, posture-break executions and hitting weak spots with the right firearm or transmutation. Released October 13, 2026 for $39.99 by One More Level (Ghostrunner) and Lyrical Games.

Is Valor Mortis fully released, or is this still the September demo?

The full game released October 13, 2026 on PC (Steam), PS5 and Xbox Series X|S for $39.99. The two-chapter demo closed on September 8 — every guide on this site is written against the full release.

Does Valor Mortis have difficulty options or summons?

No. There is one fixed difficulty and no NPC summon support. Progress comes from precise parries, posture-break executions, weak-spot firearm hits and matching the right transmutation to each boss.

Is anything missable in one playthrough?

Only one trophy is missable: Abyssal Eviction, which requires a Level 5 Shield Transmutation. The whole game contains just 2 Quintessential Transmutation Materials — keep one for Shield or the trophy is lost for that run.

Can I keep playing after beating the final boss?

Yes. After the Chapter 11 finale you return to the last lantern and can fast-travel to any region to finish side quests and collectibles. New Game+ is planned for a later 2026 patch.

How do I manually save in Valor Mortis?

There is one autosave slot and no save button. Stand somewhere safe, open the pause menu and choose Back to Menu — the game immediately writes your exact position and state to the save.
